Is wearing a mask an ethical decision?

Is wearing a mask an ethical decision? Pretty much all of the world there is some level of a mask requirement. I live in Florida and there’s a mandatory mask order for the entire city of Miami. If you are working out at the gym you have to wear a mask. If you are anywhere in a public setting you have to wear a mask. You can take off if you’re eating but you’re required to wear a mask. If you’re exercising you don’t have to be wearing a mask but you do have to have one on you if walk around.
Within businesses and schools it’s become a requirement. My daughter who just started high school, just went back live to school last week which I was skeptical about. There are all sorts of strict things we have to do like take her temperature each day. Every single child has to wear a mask and there are one way directional signs so that no one is crossing opposite from each other. The classrooms, all the desks have been separated by 6 feet. It’s become a way of life.
There are a lot of people that still believe that wearing a mask is not necessary. To me, wearing a mask is an ethical decision. Some people believe that “I don’t have to wear a mask if I’m not sick.” But the truth is we don’t really know. Maybe you’re sick and you’re asymptomatic.
I think we are in the state of the pandemic that instead of thinking about ourselves, we should be thinking about anyone else but ourselves, which is the purpose of wearing the masks. In case you do have any virus, wearing a mask is an effort to protect our society. Scientifically, it’s been proven that certain demographics are more effected by the Covid Virus. I want to be sure that I am not contributing or promoting or affecting anyone else in a negative way.
The goal is to be a positive inspiration to other people and to be a positive force to help others. The first step for me is to do the right thing and wear a mask. I encourage all of you to wear a mask. It’s an ethical decision. Do the right thing.
